Pet Fashion Week NY Is Set for August
Pet industry professionals looking for the latest pet fashions as well as grooming supplies may find what they need at Pet Fashion Week NY, to be held Aug. 23-24 at the Metropolitan Pavilion and adjoining Altman Building in New York.
This year’s event will feature two new exhibitor segments: The Grooming Galleria, where exhibitors will offer pet styling products, scissors and shears, salon equipment, and salon design products; and Design on 4, which will showcase emerging pet fashion designers and international companies new to the U.S. market.
Other highlights will include the PFW Buyer Runway Shows, featuring ready-to-wear and couture collections from 12 of the world’s best pet fashion designers in time for the fall/holiday buying season.
Combining environmental responsibility with pet fashion, the ECOuture charity fund-raiser will encourage trade members to make eco-friendly business decisions and to donate products to assist animal shelters.
In the 2008 PFW Lifestyle Innovation Award competition, eight pet dinnerware designers will present inventive bowl designs to be judged by a panel of design experts from a variety of industries.
In The Les Poochs Poodle Challenge, an invitational competition offering more than $70,000 in prizes, pet stylists will sculpt artistic patterns into poodles’ coats.
